About: Complex Systems Modeling for Environmental Problem Solving

By bringing together natural scientists, engineers, and modelers, CSYS combines the observations and measurments collected by those working in the field with new mathematical techniques to explore how one pattern is dependent on another.

The CSYS group has built a new capacity in the State of Vermont in Complex Systems computation and modeling. The group brings a complex systems approach to some long standing environmental problems that are of importance to the State and the Region. Through the use of multiple and varied modeling approaches, insights and predictions that have not previously been possible are obtained.
