Baxter is a M.S. student in Environmental Engineering at the University of Vermont. He has been involved with the RACC program since 2013 as an intern with the Q1 group, a graduate research assistant, and now a member of the outreach team connecting the different research groups through social activities. His research focuses on seasonal nutrient and sediment loading estimation models for different watersheds in Lake Champlain. This work has focused on spring snowmelt processes and extreme storm events to understand the effect of these processes on nutrient loading to the lake. He looks forward to finishing his M.S. work this summer 2016 and presenting his work to his defense committee of fellow RACC researchers and mentors, Andrew Schroth, Donna Rizzo, and Mandar Dewoolkar. He plans on pursuing environmental consulting work after his work is completed this summer.
