2014 VT EPSCoR CWDD Macroinvertebrate Workshop at Saint Michael's College
The VT EPSCoR Center for Workforce Development and Diversity (CWDD) held a Macroinvertebrate Identification Workshop for 23 VT EPSCoR Streams Project participants on Thursday, December 18 from 10:00am to 2:00pm at Saint Michael’s College. As participants of the Streams Project, the seven high school teachers and 16 high school students spent the summer and fall of 2014 collecting macroinvertebrate samples and water samples from streams around Vermont. Also present were Jennifer Guarino (faculty at the Community College of Vermont) and Emily Miller (Monitoring Coordinator at the White River Partnership).
The workshop was designed to assist participants in the identification of macroinvertebrates with help from experts Dr. Declan McCabe (Professor of Biology at Saint Michael’s College) and Katie Chang (VT EPSCoR CWDD Research Technician).
