 | Wilton Burns BREE Ecological Systems GRA, Vermont EPSCoR University of Vermont Wilton is pursuing her PhD in the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources. Through her work on the BREE grant she'll combine high-frequency water quality data with weekly nutrient analysis, phytoplankton counts, meteorological data, and river discharge to better understand how extreme events (rain, drought, wind, etc.) affect the timing and severity of phytoplankton blooms in Missisquoi and Saint Albans bays in Lake Champlain. She earned her M.S. in Oceanography at the University of New Hampshire in 2017 and obtained a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2014. |
