Liv Herdman is currently an Oceanographer who specializes in coastal ocean modeling with the United States Geological Survey. She earned a BS in Environmental Engineering Science from UC Berkeley and MS and PhD from Stanford University in Civil and Environmental Engineering. While doing a postdoc at UVM she became interested in applying her numerical modeling skills to Lake Champlain and she has been dabbling in lake modeling ever since. Her research interests are in understanding how physical processes in environmental flows impact ecological processes and the human built environment.
