The Vermont/Puerto Rico Student Exchange was coordinated by Meghan Wilson (Hartford High School science teacher) and Noelia Báez Rodríguez (Luquillo Long Term Ecological Research Schoolyard Program Coordinator). Teachers and students from three Puerto Rico high schools (Robinson, Juan Ponce de Leon and Specialty School of Fine Arts Ernesto Ramos Antonini) and one Vermont high school (Hartford) participated in the Exchange.
Puerto Rico high school students arrived in Vermont on Friday March 24th, spent Saturday and Sunday at Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest doing field work, Monday at Hartford High School attending classes with other exchange students. On Tuesday, they presented the results of the research they carried out since the summer of 2016. As part of the Exchange, Vermont high school students visited Puerto Rico in the spring of 2016. The teams saw each other again during the summer of 2016 High School training week at Saint Michaels College.
