Members of VT EPSCoR’s CWDD program attended the J.J. Flynn Elementary School Maker Faire in Burlington, Vermont on March 20, 2017. Mike Winslow, Janel Roberge, and Veronica Sosa-Gonzalez set up microscopes that allowed students and parents to look at macroinvertebrates. For some students, this marked their first time using a microscope.

In addition to experiencing what it is like to use a microscope, students were able to examine specimens in vials, photos, and handbooks with useful information. Approximately 50 elementary, middle school students and their parents stopped at the CWDD’s table.
