2017 BREE Intern Workshops

To promote the career development of BREE undergraduate summer interns, the Center for Workforce Development and Diversity hosts weekly workshops. The workshops help develop interns’ communication skills and provide them the tools they need to put together a poster or presentation for the spring Symposium where they will present their findings. Workshop topics include developing and formulating hypotheses, excel/R, presenting results, scientific poster critique, personality and distilling your message, and how to write an abstract. Additionally, the workshops serve to introduce interns to faculty or topics within the realm of BREE beyond the projects they are working on. Additional workshop topics have included social and environmental gaming systems, a farm tour, watershed modelling, and a career panel.
