2018 Grant Writing Workshop
Vermont EPSCoR will hold a Grant Writing Workshop at Trader Duke's Hotel (formerly the Doubletree) in South Burlington, Vermont on Wednesday, August 22, 2018.
Agenda This interactive workshop will offer presentations on identifying areas of interest and alignment with funding agencies; relationship building with private foundations and workshop focused on developing a funding plan to meet your professional goals including strategic planning, Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and hands on demos.
Speakers include – Jeralyn Haraldsen, Ph.D., UVM Office of Vice President for Research Grant Proposal Manager; Lisa Townson, Associate Director for Foundation Relations, UVM Foundation; and Hilda Alajajian, Office of Research Support and Integrity.
Dr. Haraldsen was trained as a scientist and has broad and extensive experience in scientific communication. She has a B.S. in biotechnology from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and went on to complete Ph.D. training in molecular microbiology at Tufts University in 2003, and postdoctoral training in parasitology and cellular microbiology at the University of Vermont in 2007. She was mentored in providing grant proposal support by working with the Office of Proposal Development at Tufts University. She is an active member of the National Organization of Research Development Professionals (NORDP).

- How to use PIVOT and identify 2-3 funding opportunities of interest
- Receive valuable feedback from peers and senior colleagues
- How to approach and network with private foundations
- Aligning personal strategic plan with funding agencies emerging areas of interest
