The University may submit a single proposal for this program.
At this time, we are accepting Pre-proposals from any eligible faculty member wishing to be considered for this competition. Please carefully review the sponsors website for full details and specific eligibility requirements.
Pre-proposals (maximum 2 pages, excluding references and biosketch) should include:
- Your Name, Associated Academic Department, and Department Chair Name
- A project summary consistent with the NSF FYI 2021 priority programmatic focus area: "Advancing research towards Industries of the Future to ensure economic growth for EPSCoR jurisdictions.
- A description of the proposed collaboration with at least one Co-PI from an academic institution or organization in a different RII-eligible EPSCoR jurisdiction
- A plan for the recruitment/development of diverse early career faculty and STEM education and workforce development on the single topic "Advancing research towards Industries of the Future to ensure economic growth for EPSCoR jurisdictions.
- A statement about the projects Broader Impacts, including its impact on the states research infrastructure to drive discovery and build sustainable STEM capacity

The pre-proposal should be submitted as a single file (no more than 2 pages) and be uploaded into UVMs InfoReady Review portal at https://uvm.infoready4.com/. Pre-proposals will be evaluated using the following criteria: 1) Alignment with the program goals; 2) Project Merit; 3) Broader Impacts; 4) Feasibility and; 5) Strength of Project Personnel.
The deadline for submitting Letters of Interest through the InfoReady portal is November 13, 2020 before 5:00 pm.

Program Summary below:
The National Science Foundation Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (NSF EPSCoR) is soliciting proposals for the 2021 Research Infrastructure Improvement Program Track- 2 Focused EPSCoR Collaborations (RII Track-2 FEC).
All proposals must promote collaborations among researchers in EPSCoR jurisdictions and emphasize the recruitment/development of diverse early career faculty and STEM education and workforce development on the single topic: Advancing research towards Industries of the Future to ensure economic growth for EPSCoR jurisdictions. Each proposal must have a collaborator from an institution in a different RII-eligible EPSCoR jurisdiction as Co-PI. The second institution will be issued a subcontract. The number of submissions per state is unlimited but there can be only one per institution. An investigator cannot be PI or co-PI on more than one proposal. Please note that you may be a Co-PI on a proposal with a PI from another EPSCoR eligible state, but you are not allowed to be PI or co-PI on more than one proposal; its either one or the other.
