Jesse Gourevitch Presents PhD Defense
BREE Graduate Research Assistant Jesse Gourevitch presented a seminar and PhD defense titled "Evaluating the Distributional Equity of Ecosystem Services Under Alternative Land Use and Climate Change Scenarios" on March 8, 2021. Due to restrictions in place as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the seminar was presented remotely via Zoom.
The seminar presented four studies that evaluate the distribution of ecosystem services (ES) among different demographic and socioeconomic groups under a range of land use and climate change scenarios. This helps to address the understanding of ES benefits among individuals and groups within society remains a critical gap.
The committee attending this seminar included Taylor Ricketts, PhD (Director of the Gund Institute for Environment, Professor of Environment and Natural Resources, and Gourevitch's advisor), Donna Rizzo, PhD (Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Co-Lead, BREE IAM Team), Brendan Fisher, PhD (Professor of Environment and Natural Resources), and Beverly Wemple (Professor and Chair of Geography, BREE Ecological Systems Team Member).
