Vermont STEM Fair Award Winner's Connection with CWDD!

 

 

 
Vermont EPSCoR's CWDD served as a sponsor of the Vermont STEM Fair, which occurred from March 24-26, 2022. The fair was held virtually this year but held special significance for members of the CWDD, as one of the award winners, Bridget O'Keefe, received mentoring from Vermont EPSCoR.
 
CWDD Operations Manager Janel Roberge and BREE Ecological Team member Declan McCabe had provided mentoring for the high schooler Ms. O'Keefe, who had also received mentorship from the pair in her 8th grade year. She presented an extensive project with water fleas in a laboratory of St. Michael's College campus. In a virtual awards ceremony on March 27th, Ms. O'Keefe received numerous awards in recognition of her impressive work.
 
In addition to helping sponsor the Vermont STEM Fair, the CWDD also provided a judge, as Janel Roberge participated in that role this year. For more information on the fair, including a list of abstracts and a recap of the event, click here.
