Colleen Sullivan
Advisor: Paul Bierman
Degree: MS Geology

Colleen is investigating the erosional history if the Blue Ridge Escarpment in western North Carolina and Virginia using cosmogenic 10-Be. She will ultimately evaluate 10-Be production rates in basins of the upland, the escarpment itself, and the Piedmont region to better understand the geomorphic evolution of this striking landform.

Colleen completed her B.S. degree at Lafayette College in Easton, PA in 2003 under the advising of Dr. Dru Germinoski. She spent the next 2 years working for an environmental consulting firm, mainly investigating groundwater contaminant plumes in the New York City area. Outside the cosmo lab, Colleen enjoys skiing, kayaking, scuba diving, and pretty much anything that involves playing in the water.
