Dr. Malaby is a Grant Proposal Developer with UVM Research Development and a Grant Proposal Specialist with the NIH INBRE-funded Vermont Biomedical Research Network. Dr. Malaby completed her PhD in biochemistry at UMass Medical School in 2014, and completed a postdoc in cell biology and biophysics at UVM in 2019. During her postdoc, Dr. Malaby was awarded a DOD Horizon Award postdoctoral fellowship, founded the UVM Postdoctoral Association, and chaired a Gordon Research Seminar with the Motile and Contractile Gordon Research Conference in 2017. Dr. Malaby co-founded the UVM Postdoctoral Association (PDA), and served as the inaugural co-chair from 2018. She provided significant input into the UVM PDA bylaws, led a survey initiative to understand the satisfaction state of UVM postdocs across wide-ranging topics such as professional development opportunities, benefits, and job responsibilities, guided the logistical planning of multiple professional development and social events, and wrote a handbook to help onboard future postdocs at UVM. The UVM PDA has grown into a well-known community on campus that is still active today. With UVM Research Development, Dr. Malaby has served as an NSF reviewer and is the current Communications Coordinator for the NORDP NE Advisory Committee. Dr. Malaby will serve as the Assistant Chair on the RAISE Steering Committee.
