RESEARCH TECHNICIAN: VT EPSCoR Center for Workforce Development and Diversity

The VT EPSCoR Center for Workforce Development and Diversity (CWDD) seeks a Research Technician to work on VT EPSCoR’s Research on Adaptation to Climate Change (RACC) project. RACC is a multi-disciplinary, multi-institution (UVM, St. Michael’s College, Johnston State College, Middlebury College) research program investigating how the interaction of climate change and land use will alter hydrological processes and nutrient transport from the landscape, internal processing and eutrophic state within Lake Champlain, and the implications for adaptive management strategies. The research technician will perform laboratory functions in support of RACC research at the VT EPSCoR CWDD water analysis lab at Saint Michael’s College. The technician will supervise laboratory operations, conduct laboratory analyses, collect stream water samples from field sites, supervise undergraduate interns working on the project, and perform quality control and data entry. Interested candidates should have experience in analysis of water samples and laboratory SOPs, and a BA/BS in chemistry, biology, or related field. Experience working with secondary students and undergraduates is a plus.
