Dr. Andrew Schroth, Science Leader for the RACC Lake Processes, Question 1 group, was an invited speaker at the 73rd Annual Meeting of the Vermont Feed Dealers and Manufacturers Association on September 22 and 23, 2015. Held in Stowe, Vermont, Dr. Schroth gave a presentation on RACC research titled, "Phosphorus Cycle and Lake Champlain Relationship - The Real Story", focused on loading to Lake Champlain in the context of climate change.

In this issue of Watershed Moments you will find many examples of how each award has helped advance science and broaden participation throught Vermont and beyone, especially through publications, grants, and outreach. Our capacity for building scientific infrastructure throughout the state and region has been strengthened by the talented and dedicated efforts put forth by the interdisciplinary team of faculty researchers, post-doctoral associates, graduate students, undergraduates, technicians, staff, high school and middle school participants contributing to these important questions that seek how to better understand the Lake Champlain Basin and contribute to the future of its health. An important part of this research includes feedback gathered through surveys from citizens, stakeholders and decision makers, that we couple with data collected from our advanced sensor network to form secario texting through our innovative Integrated Assessment Model. a recent "Willingness to Pay Report" from members of the Policy and governance team can be found in this issue.

In early September, the VT EPSCoR Center for Workforce Development and Diversity (CWDD) visited the J. J. Flynn Elementary School in Burlington, VT to explore what it means to be a scientist and to use some of the tools of the trade. Working with STEAM teacher, Courtney Asaro, St. Michael's College professor, Dr. Declan McCabe, introduced 5th graders to microscopes and the wonders of macroinvertebrates, and engaged 1st graders in the life of a scientist.
