Vermont EPSCoR GRAs Assist at Milton Middle School Science and Engineering Fair
Three Vermont EPSCoR graduate research assistants (GRAs) were invited judges for a local science and engineering fair held at Milton Middle School in Milton, VT on February 8, 2018. Wilton Burns, Caitlin Crossett, and Brittany Lancellotti acted as judges for science and engineering projects at the event.
The fair showcased more than 400 middle school students who presented unique science and engineering projects. The Vermont EPSCoR GRAs interacted with students and acted as an audience to which they could present their work. This allowed the students to develop communication skills and get feedback on their work.
Projects included building a solar cell phone charger, an examination of how different coatings impact the rust rate of nails, and more. Students that completed the best projects will move to a state level science and engineering fair.
