John N. Evans, Ph.D., Interim Vice President, Research, University of Vermont, and Professor in the College of Medicine – Honored for Contributions to Building Research Excellence at UVM and Across Vermont


Dr. John Evans was presented with a plaque in appreciation of his many contributions to building research excellence and infrastructure at the University of Vermont and across the State of Vermont from Dr. Judith Van Houten, University Distinguished Professor, and Vermont State EPSCoR Director.

Dr. John Evans is currently Interim Vice President for Research at the University of Vermont and Professor in the College of Medicine. He also serves as President of the Vermont Technology Council, an organization that works to foster technology-enabled companies in Vermont by integrating the efforts of the private, public and academic sectors.

A member of the University of Vermont faculty since 1976, Dr. Evans has held numerous leadership positions and has had a distinguished career as a biomedical researcher with numerous publications and honors.
