Call for Proposals:

NSF EPSCoR RII Track-2 FEC (Focused EPSCoR Collaborations)

The National Science Foundation Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (NSF EPSCoR) has announced the following funding opportunity: Research Infrastructure Improvement Program Track-2 Focused EPSCoR Collaborations (RII Track-2 FEC). The full RFP may be found here:

  • The number of submissions per state is unlimited but there can be only one per institution. Institution is defined as PhD granting and non-PhD granting higher education institutions, and not for profit non-degree institutions (museums, science centers etc.).
  • At UVM, the Vice President for Research and VT EPSCoR State Committee, the Vermont Technology Council, will determine which if any proposals go forward.
  • The topics are to be consistent with NSF priorities, and they are encouraging cognitive neuroscience, clean energy and food security.
  • There must be a collaboration with another EPSCoR jurisdiction. The second institution will have the Co-PI and a subcontract.
  • The NSF anticipates making 5 awards. There will be up to $1M per year for a collaboration of 2 jurisdictions and $1.5M per year for 3 or more jurisdictions. Funding period limit is up to 4 years.
  • Deadline for submission to the NSF is February 20, 2015
