RACC Q2 Interns at UVM: Streambank Stability and Field Validation of Watershed Models

RACC interns and graduate students at UVM used LiDAR to monitor & quantify streambank erosion and conduct field surveys of stream bank structure, vegetation, erosion, and stream bed sediment within the Mad River Valley Watershed. Interns also incorporated observations of stream networks into GIS, used to validate computer-generated stream networks. The observations were used to parameterize and validate computer models of the Mad River Valley watershed.
